Provider Verification Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Provider profiles on Find A Doctor Hub are built from public licensing registries, the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), and information submitted or claimed by providers themselves.
Primary data sources
- State medical, dental, and behavioral health licensing boards
- NPPES NPI Registry (CMS)
- Specialty board directories (e.g., ABMS member boards) where publicly available
- Provider-submitted updates through the Claim Your Listing process
What we verify before publishing
- Active state license at the time of publication
- Matching NPI number where applicable
- Self-reported specialty against board records when available
- Practice address, phone, and website against at least one public source
Update cadence
License status, address, and core credential fields are refreshed on a rolling schedule. Insurance participation and new-patient acceptance can change frequently and should always be confirmed with the provider's office before booking.
Limits of verification
Verification confirms that a license and identifying information exist in public records at the time of publication. It is not an endorsement of clinical quality, bedside manner, or outcomes, and it does not guarantee current insurance participation or appointment availability.
Removal & disputes
Providers may request removal, correction, or claim their profile at any time via our Claim or Correct a Listing page.
Medical emergency? If this is a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Find A Doctor Hub does not provide emergency services.
